Emmy-award-winning journalist, Armen Keteyian Speaks at Armenian Professional Society Event8/29/2018
August 2018 – Los Angeles, CA – On Thursday, August 23, the Armenian Professional Society (APS) invited Armen Keteyian, one of the finest investigative journalists in the country, to speak to members and friends of the organization.
The evening began with networking and light bites donated by Porto’s Bakery. Addressing over 100 attendees, Nerses Aposhian, President of APS, kicked off the program by welcoming attendees to the Glendale Downtown Central Library. His remarks were followed up by Ardy Kassakhian, City Clerk for Glendale, who gave a warm greeting to Armen from the City of Glendale, highlighting the remarkable impact Armen has had as an Armenian-American journalist. Kathryn Mgrublian, Communications Director for APS, introduced Armen – showcasing his incredible accomplishments. Graduate students who are awarded the scholarship will receive $2,500. APS will notify recipients in mid-to-late September about scholarship decisions. Recipients will be invited to and recognized at APS' Awards Banquet in October 2018. This year marks the 60th Anniversary of APS. The organization continues its commitment to furthering students’ academic pursuits while building connections among young Armenian professionals. February 2018 – Los Angeles, CA – The Armenian Professional Society (APS) named its 2018 Executive Board with Lauren Hovanesian and Kathryn Mgrublian joining the members from the 2017 leadership team: Nerses Aposhian, Olivia Jamgotchian, Alex Martinian, Armen Haroutunian, Patrick Tanahan and Serli Polatoglu. As 2018 marks the 60th Anniversary of APS, the Executive Board will continue to build on the organization’s momentum. Nerses Aposhian acts as Executive Board President of APS, having previously been Communications Director. He is a hospitality consultant and co-founder of Ignitus, a full-service marketing agency. For his undergraduate studies, Nerses attended USC, earning a degree in Political Science and Communication. Shortly after, Nerses attended Loyola Law School.
