Scholarships for Armenian Heroes
The Armenian Professional Society (APS) was formed in 1958 for the advancement of education and fellowship among Armenians. Since its inception, APS has supported over 300 students of Armenian descent in the United States by granting scholarships to students in a variety of fields. Last year, we provided $21,000.00 worth of scholarships to seven recipients.
As the Armenian Community is keenly aware, 2020 presented many challenges to Armenia and the Armenian people. In addition to the COVID-19 pandemic, the war between Artsakh and Azerbaijan inflicted severe damage. As a result, thousands were killed, tens of thousands were displaced, and lands were lost.
With this in mind, the Armenian Professional Society in conjunction with the American University of Armenia pledged to donated $5,000.00 in scholarships for Armenian veterans (or their spouse) of the recent war to further their college education. In these times, we are proud to support fellow Armenian students, especially veterans, to further their education and provide them the necessary tools to create a better Armenia.
